One of the oldest operating hotels in California, The Historic Dutch Flat Hotel served as the main source of accommodations, hospitality, and entertainment in the once-booming gold rush town of Dutch Flat.  Home to over 5,000 residents in its heyday, Dutch Flat is now a serene little town about 1.5 miles off I-80 in Placer County.

Not much has changed

The people of the Dutch Flat community are so committed to keeping this

area special.  You can pop into the general store or the community center to ask questions and get up to date info on upcoming events.

The Community of Dutch Flat

Many of the families in Dutch Flat have been here for generations. A walk around town is like walking back in time.  People still wave and say hello. They are always willing to help when needed.

It all began in 1852. We are proud to be the current caretakers of such a special property— Wendy & Leif
